Ah, Hellboy. Not the most accurate adaptation but still a fun movie. :)
And while the focus on the new BRPD recruit is annoying, apparently that may have been a compromise with the studio considering they were resistant to both casting Ron Perlman in the lead (despite his being excellent) and having him be horned and red the entire time. As they say in the making of featurette or something, they wanted Hellboy to be a regular looking, conventionally attractive bloke who only looks demonic when he’s mad which… isn’t Hellboy?
Like, maybe make an Etrigan movie if that’s what you wanna go with.
